The inauguration of Donald Trump, the rise of a right-wing extreme movement, the proliferation of “fake news”: for Arendt scholars, it might seem like déja vu all over again. kultur360 caught up with Kieran Bonner, Professor of Sociology and Legal Studies at St. Jerome’s University, a federated institution of the University of Waterloo, to figure out just what it is about Arendt’s understanding of the political turmoil of the 1900s that resonates in the twenty-first century.
